Lovely Home

I rarely talk much about architecture on this blog. It is probably because most of the people around me are either studying it or their work is connected to it and as much as I enjoy talking about the things that I love I come to a point where I don't even want to see a single building. I guess I kind of use this blog as a break from all this but now that the new semester has begun I suppose some of my thoughts and inspiration behind my projects would find its place over here.

So here is a fabulous house in Sao Paulo, Brazil by the architect Isay Weinfeld.

I am off to my design class at the uni. Hope you all have a lovely day!

Did you notice?

Fall is almost here. Beautiful isn't it? I can't imagine living in a place where I couldn't experience the pleasure of having all the four seasons.

I just wanted to share that the there is an awesome giveaway at inspire*inspire. It's Naomi's first giveaway, so be sure go to take part for a chance to win something beautiful and give her your support. She's really great and her blog is always a wonderful place to find inspiration.

Have a lovely day!

My Home

I know I've been a really bad blogger the last couple of weeks but I've been busy redecorating and painting at home. I had some problems with the new fitted wardrobe but I hope it will be ready soon. I have so many ideas and I definitely need to start saving because all that remodeling is way more expensive than a university student without a job can afford. I haven't taken many photos because half of the place still needs furniture - a sofa, a coffee table, two bookcases.. The good thing is I finally managed to make my card reader work and share some photos with you.

I put this little "me" tag on top of my inspiration board, which I finally got to remake.

I changed the place of my desk and now the light is coming from the left, which is perfect. Still need to paint my chair white though.
I love Victoria's Secret Pink! And their tags are so cute! I use different jars to store stuff in them.

This is the plant next to my bed. I am really bad with plants, really, really bad. I need to get a window sill (that's the word, right?) Isn't the light beautiful?

And this is my nightstand. Got those seashells while we were at the seaside this summer form a lovely old woman. The picture is of my parents' wedding - I love it! And I keep all of my jewelry inside that box. The book is by Ayn Rand and there's a Sofia Dance Week program on top of it. What's on your nightstand?

Hope everyone's week started great! See you tomorrow :)

Back to School *Part 1

My semester at the uni started today. Did summer go away really fast or what? I know it is probably everyone's least favorite time of the year and I will probably regret what I am about to say, but I've got to tell you I am a little glad lazy summer days are over. I am the kind of person that needs a little bit of stress to get back into schedule and actually do the things I have planned. Plus it is this time of the year when I get the chance to shop for some really cute notebooks and organizers and folders and stationery as a whole (yep, I am a stationery addict, just like most of you). Therefore I've selected some of my favorite items on Etsy that I think would be great for school and I am going to share them with you starting today till the end of the week. Deal?

1. Whisperous Rain II (This pendant pin would look so great on my argyle sweater plus I totally love rain, especially at this time of the year)
2. Lined Notebook /Old School
3. Molly Antique Lace Purse (I love small purses to keep the lots of small things like phone, ipod, pencils)
4. Natural Recycle Paper Lead Pencils (these are made of recycled paper and I absolutely love them!)

Do you guys go to school/university? I'd love to hear what you study or what you do for a living :)

Have a lovely day! xo

Lovely Home

I know some people have really strange ideas of what their home should look like, but how about living in a renovated church? I have to be honest - I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable there because churches, especially old ones, are somehow mystical and powerful and definitely not something I associate with my living room. But I admit it - it really is an interesting idea and well, that definitely would make your home unique.

I'm totally digging this bathroom. I like the lots of light coming from the window without taking away the feeling of privacy.

I love the use of wood and stone. You can hardly find a place that is constructed the way a church is. It really makes your home unique and adds so much character.

The use of simple wooden furniture definitely makes you feel the building stronger.

The living area is probably the only space I don't like. Having very high ceilings can be tricky and the proportions here are all wrong I think - the furniture looks so tiny and somehow incomplete while the room itself is giant which doesn't help you feel cozy. Perhaps a larger sofa, even a built in one would look better and a huge chandelier hanging low to shorten the distance to the ceiling.

What are you thoughts? Would you ever live in a house like this? I am really curious.

Hello everyone! Just a quick note to let you know I am back. I didn't have an internet connection at my apartment but now everything is back to normal. I started painting my walls yesterday (still a lot to go) and I really like how it looks. I'm going at the gym tomorrow morning and then I am spending the day with my niece, drinks with the girls in evening probably and after that I'll be back to regular posting and catching up on your blogs.

Hope everyone is great ! xo

Inspiration Boards

I am planning on rearranging my flat. I am going to paint it all white next week and I have a fitted wardrobe that has to be installed as well as a bench/shelf. What I will really need to do is to figure out what to do with my inspiration board. I definitely want to have a huge one and my old one is dying (poor thing). So here are some of my favorites I found over the internet as well as some creative bloggers'.

I love Geninne's metal boards with fabric over it

I found a lovely tutorial on how to make the inspiration board above

Jen Ramos also posted a tutorial on how to make a framed fabric inspiration board

I really like the simple white frame at lovelydesign. I think something like this would look great in my kitchen

If you want to share your inspiration board with us send me a photo at iva[dot]yanev[at]gmail[dot]com and I would love to post it here.

Lovely Home

I love this rustic house in France. It looks so cozy with the simple design and natural materials and the ceilings - oh my! I can totally imagine something like this for a villa, for a place to leave my phone and laptop away and just be close to the nature with the people I love.

Not only does she write three blogs but she also has two Etsy shops and now this fabulous site, can you believe it? I love it that you can sort the items by color (very handy). Here are some of my favorite items from the new website, oh I am so into soft, romantic colors and lace!

Happy Friday!

Hello, friends! I finally managed to upload the photos from last Friday and here they are.

Today was a great day! I spent it with my mom, went shopping and had lunch. I went to a small antique shop and talked with the seller about the vintage cameras he had and just before I left he gave me an antique porcelain doll from France. It was so kind of him! Although I must admit the doll is pretty scary, well for me anyways - I find old dolls to be spooky. When I walked outside a small girl loved the doll and asked me where I got it from. I so wanted to give it to her, since she can really appreciate it, but it was right in front of the shop and I figured the man would feel bad about me giving it away. This man totally made my day! :)

What are your plans for the weekend? I am making apple and peach crumble right now - never tried it before, so fingers crossed :)

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!
