Working on Weekends

Lavazza cappuccino at Gelateria Confetti, Sofia

Saturday was a working day here in Bulgaria. I think we can all agree days like this suck. I managed to do all of my work till noon, so I had time to go out for a walk and get coffee. No ice-cream, even though that was the reason behind my walk, haha. But I decided to skip it this time and stay on the healthy side. Yay me!

Now be prepared to be flooded with pictures of food! Ready?

We're still having great weather over here. It's a bit unreal how hot it is but I'm embracing it and wearing my favourite summer pieces for one last time.

After that I met with boyfriend who got off work early and we went to Spaghetti Kitchen for dinner.

And I had a cheeseburger with fries and a barbecue sauce. That's my kind of McDonald's - a real burger with real minced meat - fresh, yummy, enough to fill you up and much healthier.

What did you do this Saturday? Any plans for the rest of the weekend?

OOTD 28/09

Wearing a pink T-shirt dress with belt from House

I had a pretty uneventful day today. Did a bunch of work, cleaned the apartment, went out for coffee and my favorite carrot cake, yum! Now I'm back home, waiting for boyfriend to come from the gym.

Pasta with cream, broccoli, cauliflower, blue cheese and chicken fillet for lunch

Lunch was pasta with cauliflower, broccoli, chicken fillet, cream and blue cheese. It was pretty good I must say.

My parents were recently in the mountains and they brought me some real raw honey. Doesn't it look amazing? It's very sweet and chewy, almost like gum.

Picked up dinner from Green Deli Cafe: a Caesar chicken salad and cream soup with salmon

I picked up some dinner on my way home: Caesar chicken salad (my favourite!) and creme soup with salmon. I am now off to do some much needed stretching and foam rolling. Have an awesome Friday night!

Working in Bed and a Thrift Store Haul

Working in bed

Me and my mom have been working like crazy for the past few days. We decided to go out for coffee today, since I'm leaving very early tomorrow. So - work till 3 o'clock, then a walk, coffee and cake.

Thrift store haul

We passed by a thrift/antique store and decided to go in. Oh my, am I glad we did! I got a few amazing things and it was all so inexpensive. I got a spoon and a small bowl with amazing details, a container for tea to put in your boiling water (is there a name for this?) and a tiny metal teapot.

I also got some yarn for my grandma to knit an infinity scarf for me. I can't wait till it's ready! Thanks, grandma!

Well, that's about it for today. I am now off to sleep because I'm catching a train at 6:30 in the morning, ykes!

Busy Mornings

Healthy breakfast

Sitting on my bed with fuzzy socks on and tons of work to do. Busy days call for a good healthy breakfast and warm tea, you know. Luckily there are quite a few TV shows to keep me entertained today. 2 Broke Girls, Castle, How I Met Your Mother and Switched at Birth are on my list. There's also a new one called Partners that I want to check out. I've really missed having something new to watch every day!

Beautiful Mountains and Crazy Storms

I'm back from my trip in the mountains. Boohoo! Well, not really - it was great relaxing for a few days but I'm glad I'm back and ready to actually do something. Everyone did a great job working out twice a day, while I was mainly sleeping, taking pictures, eating junk food (my poor tummy!) and spending time at the hotel spa. I'm all relaxed and ready to get back to work now.

I love the view of mountains, it's so relaxing. The weather was insanely windy half the time but we managed to get out and enjoy the sun.

Coffee and dessert at Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko

A bit of a boring post, I know, haha. Boyfriend is going to Vienna for a couple of days for work, so I'll be visiting my parents for a few days. I have some work to do while I'm there but hopefully I'll manage to do something more exciting than that too.

How was your weekend?

Packing

Packing clothes and make-up for the weekend

I've been working quite a lot these past few days, hence the lack of posts. I haven't had time or anything interesting to share really. I'm super excited to leave for the mountains for a few days. We go on these "bootcamps" every couple of months with a group of friends from crossfit. We eat good food, train and have a lot of fun. This time I won't be working out though, because of my back problems, but good food, great people and lots of fun - yes, please!

Packing healthy snacks for the trip

Healthy snacks are a must! I packed some grapes and raw nuts. Yum!

Having breakfast at Green Deli Cafe, Sofia

Yesterday I found this great new cafe called Green Deli Cafe. It's near my place and near a subway station too, which makes it very convenient. The girls that work there told me they make the sandwiches every morning, so everything is fresh. Mine was really yummy, so I came back this morning to get some for me and boyfriend for the trip, as well as a big cup of coffee. They also have soups, salads and sweets.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Gloomy Morning

It's so gloomy outside but I must say I love, love, love this kind of weather! The only downside is that I'm getting sick. But hopefully some healthy food and a cup of warm tea will help.

Healthy breakfast on a gloomy day

We went to see my parents in my hometown yesterday. Mom had made an amazing lunch - my God, I miss her cooking! So we spend some time with my family, drove back home and went to dinner at my boyfriend's cousins. Yesterday was definitely a family day for us.

So now I'm still in bed, sipping warm tea and catching up on blogs, videos etc. I ditched yoga this morning but we're going to a restoration movement seminar this afternoon, so that should be fun (and useful!)

So what have you guys been up to this weekend? xo

Fall Haul

Fox fashion jeans and Promod cream sweater fall haul

It's starting to get chilly here at night, so I look more and more at fall clothes, rather than tank tops and dresses. I picked up a pair of dark jeans from Fox - I always wear dark jeans in the colder months. And I feel like 90% of my jeans are from Fox, haha. I just always find a pair that I like, that fits me well and is on sale. It's definitely worth checking them out!

The top I got from Promod and it's a size L because that's the only size they had and I liked it way too much to pass it up. It's very soft and comfy and it's 100% cotton, which is quite hard to find but also very important for me if you've read my previous posts. I really like the collar and sleeves detailing!

Bershka black leather belt with studs fall haul

And finally, I got a black (faux) leather belt from Bershka. Can you believe I don't have a single black belt? For some reason I always get brown ones, haha. I really loved the detailing on this one.

What do you think?

Girl Time!

Good morning! Had a lovely breakfast with my niece and we are now doing our nails. Later we are meeting my boyfriend for lunch and we are hitting the mall to look for jeans. Girl time!

I've been meaning to tell you about a lovely movie I saw a couple of days ago. It's called Paris - Manhattan, it's French and if you are a fan of Woody Allen, then you will love this movie too! Oh, and you get elegant but effortless French fashion as a bonus.

Pink & Yellow

Healthy breakfast: yogurt, apple, green tea, raw nuts

Great day today, my niece is visiting tonight and she'll be staying till Saturday. I love her and I've really missed her in the past few weeks. Time to catch up before she gets back to school on Monday.

I wanted to make something sweet for her so I used this recipe and made Salted Caramel Chocolate Chips. The caramel turned out amazingly good, I highly recommend making it if you are into caramel. I skipped the white sugar and mine turned out a little bit runny but after a few hours in the fridge it's all good! I now have two jars filled with caramel, haha. I should think of some way to use it. If you have a nice recipe, please share!

Last night we went to a local place called Tabiet. We've never been there, so we didn't know what to expect. It was nice, but nothing too special. The menu was huge! We shared a salad and mushrooms with cheese and then boyfriend had a Chicken Kiev, while I had Chicken with Broccoli and Spinach, with Zucchini Puree on the side. Both mine and boyfriend's chicken was a bit dry, but the Zucchini Puree was amazing! I've never even thought of such thing, since zucchinis have quite some water in them, but this was really, really good. I'll definitely try to find a good recipe and make it at home too.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day! I am now off to clean the apartment and get ready for my niece's arrival.

Avene

Avene Trixera products review

I've had a lot of issues due to my extremely dry and sensitive skin. I often get rashes and it usually takes quite some time for them to completely disappear, even with medication. I avoid exposure to insects, I even stopped wearing synthetics (which often means I miss on most of the cute and cheap winter sweaters).

I went to the doctor a couple of months ago with yet another rash and she recommended that I use the Avene Trixera Emollient Cream (on the right) after each shower. The Trixera line is designed for very dry and topic skin, it's rich in thermal spring water and is fragrance free - pretty much what every product for sensitive skin should be. I've almost used the whole bottle and I must say I really like it. It definitely moisturizes my skin throughout the day and you can see and feel the difference immediately. It's thick and oily, almost like a sunscreen, but it's easy to apply and you don't need tons of product. I feel like it's a bit waterproof or something like that because whenever I go wash my hands after applying it, it's always hard for me to remove all of the product from my hands. It doesn't say anything like that on the packaging but I think it's a plus since it definitely stays on my skin for a long time. Apparently it's suitable not only for your body but your face as well, which sounds great because most products are made for just one particular purpose. Let me know if you have used it as a facial creme, because I personally haven't.

The Avene Trixera Emollient and Cleansing Gel is actually something my boyfriend bought. He's been loving their shower gels and brought me this one to use, since he knows about my skin issues. It's a good product, I've been using it with the cream and I haven't had any rashes or irritations since, so I guess it's working. Of course, it's soap free and fragrance free, which doesn't make it the most exciting product, but that's not why someone would buy it I guess. The pump makes it really convenient to use in the shower too.

The last product I have is an Avene Exfoliating and Absorbing Cleansing Mask. It's the best cleansing mask I've had. I use it once a week after a shower and I think it definitely helped my skin to stay clean. What I love most about it is how soft it makes my skin, rather than irritating and drying it. I have enough left for one more application but I think I'm going to buy the Lierac Cleansing Mask after that. I was recently given a sample of it and it was really, really good. I hope I don't get disappointed but if I do, I'm definitely going back to this one because it's a good product.
